About NEARBC | Our Partner

The National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal HealthThanks to the generous support of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH), at the University of Northern British Columbia, we have been able to maintain the Aboriginal Health Abstract Database. CAHR would like to gratefully acknowledge the NCCAH for their continued funding contribution of this valuable resource.

The National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health uses a coordinated, holistic and comprehensives approach to the inclusion of Aboriginal peoples in the Canadian public health system, guided by a respect for Indigenous knowledge and for the diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The centre’s collaborative activity and knowledge-sharing mission focuses on child and youth health, the social determinants of Indigenous health, and emerging public health priorities as it strives to make a difference in the lives of Aboriginal peoples and communities.

The NCCAH is hosted at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, B.C. and is guided by a 15-member advisory committee of leading First Nations, Inuit and Métis representatives from a variety of disciplines. The NCCAH is one of six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health funded through the Public Health Agency of Canada in support of improved response to public health concerns, chronic disease and injury, infectious diseases, and health disparities.
